The seasonal change brings fresh opportunities and new chances to grow, especially when it comes to machine learning. This April, we already have two AI events we are exciting about: PyTorch Conference Europe and ICLR. PyTorch Conference Europe kicks off next week in Paris, France, from April 7 to 8 at Station F. This two-day event will be the first-ever PyTorch event in Europe, bringing together top-tier AI pioneers, researchers, and developers to examine the future of AI development
Aiming to advance machine learning in the Open Source space, Marcus Edel and Vineet Suryan will be there to present their poster, "Bringing BitNet to ExecuTorch via Vulkan". This work enables ternary-weight (1.58-bit), low-bit LLM inference within ExecuTorch's standard export and runtime, targeting mobile GPU execution on Vulkan-capable devices. By combining BitNet's compact packed operators with Vulkan compute shaders, the implementation reduces model size and memory bandwidth while improving on-device inference for edge LLM models. Their work is part of the Inference & Production portion of the Poster Presentations that will start on April 7 at 17:05 CEST.
The next AI conference we're attending this month is ICLR, otherwise known as The International Conference on Learning Representations. This academic conference explores the rapidly developing field of deep learning, covering topics such as metric learning, compositional modeling, and optimization methods. Our very own Italo Nicola will be in attendance to explore the latest developments in artificial intelligence. ICLR will run from April 23-27 at Rio de Janeiro's Riocentro Convention and Event Center in Brazil.
If you're planning to attend either event, be sure to come say hello or contact us to set up a meeting! Collaborans would be happy to chat about all things machine learning or Open Source.
