Next week, Collabora takes Open Source innovation to the fields at AGRITECHNICA, where technology and agriculture come together. As a trusted partner of industry leaders like CLAAS, Ag Leader, and CCI, we are delighted to exhibit for the first time at one of the world’s leading agricultural trade fairs, taking place November 9–15. At the Digital Farm Center, (Hall 21, booth C17), Collabora will be showcasing an AI-powered, open source solution designed to help farmers monitor crop health locally.

Edge intelligence for smarter farming

Featuring machine learning–based precision agriculture analytics using GStreamer on Rockchip’s RK3588 platform, Collabora's demonstrated system captures real-time video from a field camera and runs a YOLOv8-based multi-class detection model optimized for the RK3588’s platform. The model can accurately identify strawberries, leaves, flowers, and potential diseases directly on the edge device, enabling continuous monitoring without relying on the cloud.

Thanks to advanced optimizations in model quantization and pipeline integration, the solution achieves fast inference performance. This demo highlights how efficient on-device AI can empower agricultural automation and crop health analysis, leveraging Rockchip’s high-performance compute capabilities for low-latency, power-efficient vision analytics.

Open Source, tailored for you

For over 20 years, Collabora has helped clients navigate the ever-evolving Open Source landscape, whether contributing a critical line of code or shaping long-term strategic development plans. By leveraging community-driven projects and reusing proven components, we accelerate development, reduce time to market, and enable true product differentiation. Are your products future-proof? As the EU’s Cyber Resilience Act takes effect, ensuring your products are secure by design and resilient to vulnerabilities is more important than ever. With new reporting rules coming next year, Collabora can help you meet these challenges confidently.

Case Study: Assisting CCI in their move to a fully upstream baseline

For over 10 years, Competence Center ISOBUS e.V. (CCI) has been trailblazing the agricultural industry, by shaping the rapid introduction of electronic components into agricultural engineering with all its facets, from automated work steps to data recording and evaluation. Ensuring a long product lifecycle with extensive support has been a key component in CCI's success. Discover how Collabora assisted CCI in creating freedom by eliminating vendor lock-in, and moving to a fully upstream software stack.
