This May, Embedded Recipes, co-sponsored by Collabora, is heading to Nice, France! Traditionally held alongside Kernel Recipes in Paris, this year marks the first standalone edition of this conference, set against the backdrop of the picturesque French Riviera.

The conference, running from May 14 to 16, offers a unique opportunity to connect with some of the thought leaders and core developers of the embedded, open source software community. Attendees can look forward to two days of insightful talks, followed by a day dedicated to workshops. Joining the lineup of speakers, Collabora's George Kiagiadakis will be presenting "PipeWire and Bluetooth: the road to LE Audio".

As part of the activities on Day 3 of Embedded Recipes, Collabora is hosting a PipeWire workshop/hackfest for attendees to meet face-to-face with PipeWire developers and participate in direct discussions about the future of PipeWire. If you are interested in attending, please reach out to George Kiagiadakis.

Beyond these three packed days, two additional events will bookend the conference. Just before Embedded Recipes activities kick off at Parc Phoenix, the Linux Media Summit—an annual gathering for active media developers to discuss media subsystem challenges—will be taking place on May 13, right across the street at Hotel Campanile. This year’s summit is sponsored by Cisco and Collabora.

Then, on the weekend after (May 16-18), the GStreamer community will be hosting its annual GStreamer Spring Hackfest at Le Labo co-working space in downtown Nice. Collabora’s multimedia team is always very active in GStreamer development and will be in attendance, so make sure to come say hello if you are in the area!

Packed with a great lineup of talks, hands-on workshops, and vibrant community events, Embedded Recipes 2025 and its co-located gatherings promise to be an unmissable experience for embedded open-source enthusiasts!
