Reading time:
Next week, Embedded Recipes, co-sponsored by Collabora, returns to Nice, France for its second standalone edition! After last year's successful debut away from Paris, we're heading back to the French Riviera for an even more packed week of embedded open source community events.
The conference runs from May 27 to 28 at Parc Phoenix, offering two days of insightful talks from thought leaders and core developers across the embedded open source software ecosystem.
But this year, Embedded Week has truly earned its name! Not only are all of last year's events returning, but we've added even more to the mix.
Kicking things off on May 26, the Linux Media Summit returns to Hotel Campanile for another year of in-depth discussions among active media developers tackling the latest media subsystem challenges. This annual gathering continues to be sponsored by Cisco, Collabora and Ideas on Board.
Following the main conference talks on May 27-28, the final three days (May 29-31) explode with parallel technical activities. All of last year's workshops are back, including the PipeWire workshop/hackfest, libcamera meetup, and Yocto Project workshop, with each providing hands-on opportunities to meet face-to-face with core developers and dive deep into the technologies shaping embedded systems.
Sharing the same timeframe (May 29-31), the GStreamer Spring Hackfest also returns once again. Collabora's multimedia team is always actively involved in GStreamer development and will be there in full force.
New this year are the Display Next Hackfest (May 29-31) and BlueZ face-to-face (May 30-31), bringing the display subsystem and Bluetooth communities together for focused collaboration on the future of their respective technologies in Linux.
Collabora will have a table at Embedded Recipes throughout the conference where we'll be showcasing multiple demos. Come see Tyr, our open-source Rust graphics driver for Arm Mali GPUs, in action. We'll also be demonstrating low-latency scalable ML video analytics powered by GStreamer on Renesas RZ/G2L and RZ/V2H platforms. And exclusively on May 28, we'll have a working prototype of the newly announced Flipper One, don't miss this rare opportunity to see it up close!
With returning favorites and exciting new additions, Embedded Week 2026 promises an unmissable experience for anyone passionate about embedded open source development. Whether you're interested in multimedia, display technologies, build systems, or Bluetooth connectivity, there's something for everyone next week in Nice!
