Architecture “Help clients with GENIVI architecture, design, & technology selection.”

GENIVI is an embedded linux platform for in-vehicle entertainment systems founded as a non-profit industry alliance in March 2009.

How can Collabora support you using GENIVI?

Collabora is an Associate Member of GENIVI and maintains the upstream of many GENIVI core components. Components such as the linux kernel, the X Window system, GStreamer, d-bus, WebKit and Telepathy are all things we have either worked with or are the main creator of.

At Collabora we can support you at any level you need for GENIVI. Want someone to provide you with a turnkey GENIVI system that you can deploy your own applications on? We can do that. Want someone who can work with your chipset provider to enable their hardware with GENIVI for you? We can do that. Want someone to write GENIVI applications for you, ready to be deployed? We can do that.

Domain Expertise for GENIVI systems

One of the main advantages of working with Collabora is the strong domain expertise we bring to major parts of the GENIVI platform. We don't think you will be able to find another company which has the same width and depth of core expertise around crucial components in the GENIVI stack. For instance we do take special pride in our extremely strong multimedia team, being either the main or major contributor behind core open source multimedia technologies. This means we can offer unrivaled expertise for the following projects:

But we also got experienced and proven developers with in-depth knowledge of other major GENIVI components like:

We are able to work using a wide variety of working models for GENIVI consulting depending on customer needs like:

As software becomes more complex, it's much faster to use existing open source technologies than to start from scratch. You'll benefit from collaboration between different developers on the same project. There's less duplication of effort and staffers waste less time. In fact, in the long run, it's difficult for closed source projects to compete with established open source projects.
